If you shop around you can find some good tablets that aren’t too expensive…I started out with a Manhatten (I think it was a 6×8″ size? 6×9? Something like that) I honestly think it works as good as a wacom, costs less than half the price…but the pen is not as sturdy as a wacom pen. Might be a good starter tablet till you know if he’ll stick with it. Good luck!

Oh, yeah, my kids are really into a stick figure animation program, I think it’s free…it’s called Pivot Animator. You might want to give it a try, you can download lots of little bits to add to your animations. It’s really easy to use, my 9 yr old figured it out by himself

I love the picture. Duncan has really taken to creating pictures on the computer. I have been thinking about getting some hardware, like a graphics tablet, to make it easier for him.

Hi Lori, I’m glad to hear from you (was worried about you during the health scare, I’m glad everything came out ok, whew…) Yeah, I wish I could have learned like that too, but I learned out to zone out in public school classes to protect myself lol…it’s a good skill to have too. You just have to do extra reading on your own time, and it’s all good in the end
